D-ception is an Institute for Illegitimate endeavours that positions itself to be both formally ordered and disordered, interior and exterior. To achieve this, a range of camouflaging strategies have been employed to build a hierarchy of views that respond to the surveillance of the site; a watchful metropolis. The ‘dazzle’ skin of the building seeks to hide the form from orthogonal views, while revealing itself to the oblique observer. It stands as a monument of Thomasina Coverly, who, reincarnated as a crow. She is the protector of her nest, the keeper, the watcher and the collector…
